A novel poly(2-oxazoline) based polymer functionalized with the condensed form of N, N-dimethylbiguanide (cBOx) has been developed. cBOx was synthesized via the condensation of N, N-dimethylbiguanide with the methyl ester side chain in poly (2-methoxycarboxyethyl-2-oxazoline) of the diblock copolymer composed of poly(2-methyl-2-oxazoline) and poly (2-methoxycarboxyethyl-2-oxazoline). The new polymer is able to solubilize unique drugs that were unable to be encapsulated in conventional polymeric micelles, suggesting significant potential in drug delivery.
